The IW Medical Resiliency Workgroup is the Irregular Warfare Center’s initial working group for Irregular Warfare Medicine curriculum development. It will bring together US and FVEY surgeons to discuss medical coverage in contested or non-permissive environments in facilitated break-outs to identify capabilities and gaps and share findings to support the IWC’s medical security cooperation efforts.
This working group is a follow-up for the survey and interviews conducted by the IWC Integration and Engagement department with the intent to compare and contrast the conceptualization of IW between different European institutions. IWC will host an IW Medical Resiliency Wargame event in Bethesda, MD with key U.S. Medical Stakeholders from the previous IW Medical Working Group. The Wargames will facilitate key leaders’ strategic austere medical decisions to validate capabilities, identify critical gaps and develop TTPs for operational medics with focus on survivability, restricted communications, clandestine evacuation, and prolonged field care.
